“I know that abstinence is so important to me, because I feel that by doing this, I am being responsible and taking charge of my life. It’s a hard decision, but I feel proud for the courage it takes me to keep it, and to know I have that courage. It’s also a promise of love to my future husband. I hope he’s waiting for me, because abstaining is such a symbol of control and responsibility-and showing that ability to love someone so much you can wait for them.”
